Drees Homes
A fourth-generation, family-owned builder founded in 1928, Drees sells the Triangle’s semi-custom acreage product: nine communities on 0.7- to six-acre homesites from the $400s in Mebane to the $1.3 millions in Wake Forest and Pittsboro, plus a build-on-your-lot program.
About the builder
Custom + Construct, on real acreage.
Drees Homes was founded in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky in 1928 and remains family-owned four generations later. Its Raleigh division builds a different product from the national production builders on this site: semi-custom homes of 2,000–5,600 sq ft on large homesites, through a two-phase Custom + Construct process that lets buyers alter plans before pricing is locked. Three Drees models took gold at the 2026 Wake County and Durham–Orange–Chatham Parades of Homes.
Where Drees fits: buyers who want an acre or more in Wake Forest, Knightdale or Chatham County without hiring an architect, move-up buyers who want a first-floor owner’s suite and a three-car garage as plan options rather than add-ons, and landowners who want to build on their own lot. Most Drees communities are on well and septic or community water; we verify utilities and county on every lot.

Current incentives
What Drees is offering this month.
Drees is not publishing a Raleigh-division promotion online this month. It does negotiate on quick move-ins, model homes and final-phase homesites; we check the specific home before you tour.
No standing Raleigh promotion is posted at dreeshomes.com as of October 28, 2026. Drees’ affiliated lender, First Equity Mortgage, periodically funds rate buydowns; the award-winning Ballentine model at Corbett Landing and quick move-ins at Bristol Run and Highlands Summit are where negotiation is most likely.
Drees builds any of its Raleigh plans on a buyer-owned homesite anywhere in its Triangle service area, with the same Custom + Construct design process.
